Motor skills such as sitting, standing and walking, lead to life skills like eating, dressing, toileting and playing. At Rising Star Academy, children and families affected by cerebral palsy and other motor impairments begin to reach for their dreams…achieving every day tasks that can eventually lead to independence and increased participation in mainstream life. At Rising Star Academy(RSA) our goal for each child is to function at their optimal level of cognitive, physical, emotional and social performance while having a safe, productive, and fun experience. For families, our goal is to offer an effective, safe, and affordable service option for the special child in their life whose programming needs extend beyond the school year.

Dani's Story

Within 4 months the severe asthma symptoms Dani struggled with were gone. She was stronger, healthier more interactive, vocal and finding and perfecting ways to communicate. I began to see my daughter blossom in ways I never could have hoped for and was told were impossible. One year later Danielle does not sit in a wheelchair anymore; she sits independently, uses her left side more and is learning to stand up.

Erin's Story

At the age of 3 years old, Erin was diagnosed with Leukemia and has had 2 bone marrow transplants. Due to complications with the transplants, Erin lost much of her strength and mobility. That is what brought her to Rising Star. Through Erin’s work at Rising Star, thanks to the incredible and dedicated staff, she has made such tremendous improvement! She works hard and is worked hard, all of which is proving to put her in a much better place than she was a just a year ago. Thank you to Rising Star for pushing Erin further and truly expanding her realm of possibilities! We are looking forward to what is still yet to come.
